Paul AbelardoWhat even costs one big willpower in Germany, doesn't become easier abroad: the dentist visit! After one and a half years a thorough examination has been necessary. Already some small things has to be fixed at our teeth. Fearlessly we jumped into the adventure "dentist visit in South America". For good luck we have gotten a good tip from an emigrated German and so we met with Paul in Cusco. It did not sore at all and also costs much less than we were used to. Man, what have we been relieved afterwards! (mi) |

Tomoko and Kazunari
The streets were free because of a strike, the sun burned and at all.
"The day would be perfect if we met once other
cyclists again today...", Markus had said in the morning.
It was not yet midday, there Tomoko and Kazunari came
towards us on their tandem. The two, extremely nice
Japanese travel since seven (!) years in the entire
world with the bicycle. This now is their second South
America trip. They can tell a lot! Both speak fluently
English and Spanish. Too precious, that they drove into the
opposite direction, but they possibly come to visit us in a
few years in Germany, Also they would like to travel in Europe
a second time. (mi)

The people from the Art-School of ChecacupePurely by chance we discovered the art college as we looked in the small village Checacupe for an accomodation. Livia, the boss invited us spontaneously to a sightseeing. Already on the street, we were shown the first student folders. After a first tour through the dissimilar shops and studios we were so enthusiastically, that we decided spontaneously to put in a pause day in order to be able to view everything. It became a very interesting and beautiful day. Roger, the secretary took us around everywhere and even organized a sightseeing of the church for us, where we could admire great paintings of the "Escuela cuscena" and ancient wall paintings. In the evening, we still met Edgar, one of the art teachers. He made us especially enthusiastic for the great projects of the school, that were devoted to the fight of the poverty with art.(sees also the report "Diary/Perú: Andes highland") (mi) |

The children from the Vicunja Station near La RayaSunday afternoon: the Vicuña-research center shortly in front of the pass "Abra la Raya" has been like a ghost city. We wandered around between the buildings until the children finally found us. They called the caretaker for us so that he could show us a place to sleep. During Markus built our night camp, the children led me around and showed me the animals. They were real small professionals, who could tell me spontaneously any information and stories! As reward I had a small tip and two stickers for everyone of them. (mi) |

SamuelThat we actually do a super-comfortable trip, always becomes conscious for us when we meet people like Samuel. Samuel from Munich bicycles nearly doubles so fast and doubles as much as we. And additionally he has more weight on his bike: He carries around an extensive amount of parts. Compared to that Markus is like a Spartan, even if he is a tool-fetishist, in order to be prepared for any case. At his trip from South America, Samuel experienced already things, which let us stand the hair by mountain. In Peru, he was attacked twice. Both times he had the good luck, that not much happened. Once again, we were very grateful that we had so much good so luck until now. (mi) |

Felipa and her familyThe night was exceptionally blustery, a real hardened for the Hilleberg-tent, but it held what it promised. Felipa inquired anxiously in the next morning whether all is ok. A neighbor had asked her reproachfully why she would not have offered a place in her house to the Gringos. We could calm her down that we were very well and played along time with her two wakened children Zintia and Alex (sees also the report "Diary/Perú: Andes highland") (mi) |

Diego and his sistersSaid honestly: Their father was a scoundrel. He lied to us and also hided the little toys, that we had given him for his children. However after all he gave us a shelter in an empty cottage as it began to rain severely. There we could prepare a comfortable sleeping place and could cook a delicious dinner, that we divided with his children. He himselve even had not followed our invitation. The evening was long, so I still showed our photos, told the children from our travel experiences and finally we still painted together. The children, who were very shy at the beginning, became ever more trustful. In the next morning, the father asked me whether I don't want to become godmother of the two girls. The mother and the girls meanwhile looked at me with big eyes. No simple situation! And then, I still had to take care that he passed on our gifts to the children. (mi) |
